Practice notes: We were informed late Thursday afternoon they will be doing maintenance on the Riley pool this week.  Because of this we will be having several changes to our practice schedule.  We will not have practice Monday evening due to the 4th of July holiday. We will also not be having practices on Friday due to the IA meet.  Starting Tuesday we will be at Washington High School.  There is another group scheduled to use the pool on Wednesday morning so we practice on Wednesday evening.  Here is the Group 3 training plan for the week

Washington High School
The school and pool are located at 4747 W. Washington Street, South Bend IN, 46619.  Click here for a map to the pool.  There is a parking lot across the street from the school and it is marked "Event Parking".  Please use this lot.  When entering the building use door #2.  The door is located just outside the pool.  There is a horseshoe drive that is in front of the building and door #2 is the first door you will see when entering the drive.  There is a sidewalk leading from the parking lot we will be using that will take you right to this door.  Please be on time for practices.  If you arrive more then 15 minutes after practices start the door may be locked.  If your are locked out please call either Coach Carol for morning practices 574-292-0553and Coach Brion for evening practices 574-315-5865.

IHSAA Moratorium Week
Starting tomorrow Monday July 4th and and lasting through next Sunday IHSAA coaches are not to have contact with high school athletes.  Coach Carol will be covering the morning workouts for Group 3 and Coach Brion will be covering evening workouts.  I will be nearby for all practices but I will not be on deck and I will not be on deck during the IA meet when high school swimmers are competing.

Mental Training

If you would like your swimmer to meet with Ava please fill out the attached consent form.  There are some athletes that will be allowed to be pulled from practice after their initial meeting.  If you are scheduled to meet with her this week please email Ava to confirm your appointment. IA July Invite
Here is the latest information from the IA staff regarding the meet this weekend.  I have attached the psyche sheet of limited events.  Essentially these swimmers are on a wait list and if there are any scratches they may still get to swim.  If your swimmer does not get to swim their event send me a message after the meet and I will credit your account

Hello Coaches and Entry chairs,

·       As I had mentioned a few weeks ago, we were going to have to limit the number of swims in the 200 Free and 200 IM for the 10 & Under and 11-12 events. I have attached a psych  sheet of all entries for the events. This highlighted swimmers will not be in the event. If you have scratches between now and next Wednesday, please let me know and I will let the next person on the list know that they can get into the event. Please let me know if you have any questions about this.

·       All sessions except for the 400 Free and IM sessions will be run in 8 lanes with a 5 minute break where the pool will be open for swimmers to warm up/down after each event block. Please be sure that your swimmers are out of the pool at the 5 minute mark so we can keep the meet moving.

·       Our AM session time-lines are just over 4 hours, but we are hoping to pick up a few minutes by running flyovers and hopefully aggressive starts on the 50s. The PM warm up will not start before noon, but will start immediately following the last heat of the AM session if it runs past noon.

·       Just Add H2O will be on site selling swim apparel and meet t-shirts, bag tags, etc.
