Dual Meet Vs Irish Aquatics January 16th Rolfs Aquatic Center
Irish Aquatics has invited us to compete in a dual meet against their club.  This will be unique for all of our swimmers as the pool will be set-up a little differently then we are accustomed to seeing it.  Prior to our dual meet, Notre Dame will be competing in a their own dual meet vs. Northwestern starting, I believe, at noon.  The pool set-up for the varsity meets has the 25 yard competition set up in the middle of their 50 meter pool.  Our warm-ups will start as soon as possible after the conclusion of the college meet.  Hopefully we can get our entire team watching the college meet so our young swimmers can see where their swimming careers can take them.  The plan is to have the meet last a maximum of 2 hours.  After the meet we our planning something social for both teams and their families to do together.  I will share more details as they become available.

The meet declaration function for this meet has been turned on.  The deadline for opting out of this meet will be Sunday January 10th

Our entry has been sent.  You can check your swimmers entries by logging on to your swim club account or by using the OnDeck Parent app on your Android or Apple device. All pertinent time information will be included in next week's email

I Need YOUR HELP!
A couple things have come up over the last week or two that I would really like to have some assistance from our parents.  Parents if you could, please write your swimmer's event numbers and event (example #9-100 free) on their arms prior to them arriving to the pool for a meet.  This really does save quite a bit of time for the coaches and allows us to focus on the other hundred or so moving parts of an age group meet.  Another way parents can help is to let us know if you are running late or will not be able to make it.  A simple text to the coach on deck at the meet can avoid having your swimmer scratched from the meet.  Typically the meet host has allowed swimmers who did not sign in to get back in the meet.  But not every host will accommodate this and those that do will only in events where there is room in the first heat.  Help us help your swimmer by letting us know you'll be late and we can sign them in.

The last thing where parents could help is by leaving the coaching to us.  I am fully aware you know your child better then we do.  But, trying to speak to, instruct, or even re-direct your child during practice is not helpful.   During practice time our swimmers need to be focused on what their coach is saying.   Our practices will always be open and we do this for several reasons.  Among those is for the convenience it provides to our families.  We enjoy having parents in the stands.  We are very proud of the way we do things and welcome parent input on how to best work with their children .  But please limit any input to the coaches and do so before or after practice.  Thank you for your understanding.

Club Advertising for Account Credit
Our website allows for local merchants to advertise and offer coupons/specials directly on our  site.  Here is a link to the information page. We will credit your account 50% of any money the club receives from companies that you have sold advertising space to on our website.

Thank you to those families who have been able to find places to hang our team recruiting posters.  I have credited the accounts of those who have sent me photos.  If you have placed a poster in the community and have not received credit on your account please let me know and I will take care of that immediately.

Every poster displayed in a business, school, or church will earn a $5 credit for your club account.  You could earn up to $50 of credit this way.  For every poster displayed over 10, families will have their name entered for a $50 Visa gift card drawing.  We will hold that drawing on December 1st.

Our new deadline is one week from today, Sunday December 6th.  I would like our high school athletes to attend this meet.  I would like them to do so for a couple of reasons.  The first I would like them to have the opportunity to swim their best non high school events.  Secondly, I want them to experience the meet format that will be similar to the championship meets after the high school season  High school swimmers will need a waiver to be completed on line by their athletic director. High school swimmers that are not committed by the deadline will not be entered in the meet.

The deadline for committing to this meet istonight
