Each athlete will need to fill out the attached form and hand deliver to the coach when entering the high school. All swimmers should come dressed ready to practice. There may be limited use of the locker rooms after practice. If you have any questions regarding procedures for NPHS practices please email Coach Ashley at awojtysiak@npusc.k12.in.us RHS Group 2 swimmers should come to practice in dry-land clothes over their suits. They should also be wearing quality workout shoes as well. Flip flops or Crocs are not acceptable options. Swimmers are encouraged to bring a yoga mat if they have one. Swimmers attending practices at Riley please continue to fill out the on-line daily screening before arriving to Riley. You can find that link by clicking here. Masks at Practice Over the first two weeks of practice we have supplied several masks to our swimmers who are entering the building not wearing one. One of the many items we agreed to do to be able to get back into the buildings was that all of our swimmers would wear masks anytime they were not in the water. This includes entering and exiting the building. Parents, it is your responsibility to make sure your athlete enters the building with a mask on. If we get the point where we run out of masks your swimmer will not be allowed to enter the building. Please make this a priority Spring and Summer Meet Schedule/Dates of Meet/Location/Deadline to commit Below is our spring/summer meet schedule. The first date listed is the day(s) of the meet and second date is the deadline to commit. Swimmers wanting to compete will need to commit to those meets. The deadlines are based on deadlines that were set in previous years. They may change once the meet hosts posts the meet information. When committing to multiple day meets if the option to select the days you want is not available, leave a message in the available notes section of the specific days you would like to attend. Meets marked with an * are meets that require swimmers to meet certain time standards. All pool locations can be found on our website under the "Pools" tab. Most of what is being implemented is common sense and falls in line with our club's policies. One new requirement we will need to adhere to is how your minor child communicates with me. For several years I have asked swimmers in Group 2 and Group 3 to text/email me if they would be missing practice. Moving forward, swimmers will be instructed to include a parent on all communication with me.
If you are the parent of a Group 2 or Group 3 swimmer, and have never sent me a text before, please text me so I have your contact info in my phone. This way if I need to contact your swimmer about missing practice I can be sure to include you. My cell phone number is 574-276-6057.
I encourage all parents and swimmers to read the full policy. We are required to keep this policy on our website, here is the link. As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. -- John VanDriessche Head Coach South Bend Swim Club South Bend Riley High School (574)276-6057 www.southbendswimclub.com #SBSCForLife

Weekly Announcements for Week of 4/4-4/10

Dear SBSC families,
Practice Schedule Here is the practice schedule for this week. Riley HS Group 1 next practice Tuesday April 13 G1 Elite next practice Monday April 12 Group 2 next practice Monday April 12 Group 3 next practice Monday April 12 New Prairie HS (only for NPUSC students) Group 1 next practice Monday April 12 Group 2 next practice Monday April 12 Group 3 next practice Monday April 12 Practice Notes: Enjoy your break! Zoom Call with Mark Hesse I realize it has been some time since we last spoke with our consultant. As you can imagine championship season is always a busy time. If you have been part of this process and would like to continue to do so, please plan on attending a Zoom Call on Wednesday April 14 at 7:00 PM. I will send out the link with the call info the first of next week. Spring/Summer Season 21 Our first practices will be the week of April 11th. If you are currently registered you do not need to do anything. When you registered in the fall you were signing up for an entire year. If you have family or friends who would like to join the club the spring/summer registration is open. Remember this is not for swimmers currently registered with the club during the fall and winter of 20/21. We have been given the clearance to increase our numbers at NP. We (Coach Ashley and myself) have decided in order to maintain quality control we are still going to limit our overall numbers at the NP site. While we are opening some spots it will still be, at least initially, limited. If you know of anyone who is interested I would let them know ASAP. At this time we have not set our schedule for the summer times at NP. We are waiting for some direction from the administration to what they will allow us to do. But, if we are anything like we were before we will have practices in the late afternoon, early evening. USA Swimming Guidelines-MAAPPUSA USA Swimming issued a directive with regards to electronic communication and social media contact between coaches and athletes. Most of what is being implemented is common sense and falls in line with our club's policies. One new requirement we will need to adhere to is how your minor child communicates with me.
