Practice Schedule


RHS Practice Groups


Group 1: Wednesday and Thursday 6:00-7:30
G1 Elite: Monday 5:15-7:30

Group 2: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 5:15-7:30, and Friday 5:00-6:30

NPHS Practice Groups (all times for NP are CST)
Group 1: Tuesday and Thursday 6:00-7:30
Group 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thrusday 5:15-7:30

Practice Notes:   No practice at Riley on Tuesday due to a high school meet.  NP families are asked to use the main doors when entering NPHS.  NP swimmers are allowed to attend their corresponding group's practice at Riley if it is more convenient for the family.  All swimmers attending Group 2's Friday practice are reminded to bring dry-land clothes including running shoes.

NCISC Meet February 15th

As of this morning we only have 14 families who have signed up to volunteer for this meet.  We are fortunate to be able to host this meet in our home pool and we need everyone in the clubs help to make this meet a success.  There are several volunteer opportunities available.  Here is the link to the job sign-ups. We CAN NOT host this meet without your help.  Please volunteer your time for for your child's club!

I'd also like to remind everyone they will see a $10 charge on their accounts for the concession stand/hospitality room on the upcoming February 1st invoice. This includes all of our families who's swimmers are swimming with their middle or high school teams.

The deadline to commit your athletes to this meet is Sunday February 9th. More meet details will be available as we approach the 15th.

CON IMXtreme Invite

A good start to the meet for our club.  New Divisional and State cuts.  I will post the results to our website as soon as they are available.

CON Last Chance Meet February 28th - March 1st

The deadline to commit to our last regular season meet is tonight.  This may be the last time your swimmers gets to race until May.  I

Speedo Sectionals Elkhart Aquatics Center March 26th-29th

I received an email last week from the meet director for the this meet.  They are anticipating a high turnout of athletes for this meet and they are putting a cap on the number of swimmers they are allowing to compete.  The entry process opens on February 10th.  I plan on sending our entry as soon as it opens to guarantee our swimmers their spot in the meet.  I have moved up the deadline to commit to this meet to next Sunday February 2nd.

New USA Swimming Guidelines-MAAPP
USA Swimming issued a directive with regards to electronic communication and social media contact between coaches and athletes.  Most of what is being implemented is common sense and falls in line with our club's policies.  One new requirement we will need to adhere to is how your minor child communicates with me.  For several years I have asked swimmers in Group 2 and Group 3 to text/email me if they would be missing practice.  Moving forward, swimmers will be instructed to include a parent on all communication with me.


If you are the parent of a Group 2 or Group 3 swimmer, and have never sent me a text before, please text me so I have your contact info in my phone.  This way if I need to contact your swimmer about missing practice I can be sure to include you.  My cell phone number is 574-276-6057.


I encourage all parents and swimmers to read the full policy.  We are required to keep this policy on our website, here is the link.

Practice Notes:   Practices on Monday at Riley will be in the morning.  We were instructed by the Riley AD there were to be no evening practices in the building on Monday. No practice at Riley on Tuesday or Thursday due to a high school meet and no practice on Friday due to the CON IMX meet.  No practice at New Prairie on Thursday due to a high school meet. Warm-ups 5:30-6:05-our swimmers should be on deck by 5:15

Check in closes at 5:45

Meet Starts 6:15

Saturday and Sunday AM-all 10 and under swimmers

Warm-ups 8:30-9:05-our swimmers should be on deck by 8:15

Check in closes at 8:45

Meet Starts 9:15

Saturday and Sunday PM-all 11 and over swimmers

Warm-ups 1:00-1:50-our swimmers should be on deck by 12:45

Check in closes at 1:15

Meet Starts 2:00

Coach Carol (574-292-0553) will be the coach on deck on Friday and Saturday.  I (574-276-6057) will be the coach on deck on Sunday.  Please text or call the appropriate coach if you are running late or will be unable to attend.

Winter Weather

I would like to remind everyone of the policies we follow during the winter season.  If SBCSC or NPUSC cancel school for day, or if they send students home early, we must cancel our practices as well.  This is the policy of both school corporations.

We also ask that all swimmers have appropriate winter clothing on when they arrive/leave practice.  We have seen several swimmers leave the building in shorts, T-shirts, and not wearing coats.  Please, have your swimmers dress appropriately for the weather. This includes wearing a stocking cap.  A good rule of thumb is, when in doubt dress warmer.

The following is part the email I sent yesterday afternoon.  It contains the pertinent information for today.

Hello Coaches,

Here is a list of the things we discussed in Saturday's coaches meeting.

• All swimmer check in will be upstairs in Heritage Hall tomorrow for both the prelim session and the 10 & Under session. Swimmers and spectators will be ushered up the stairs when they enter and we will allow the swimmers to come down when the doors open.
• We will move admissions into Heritage Hall as well to avoid the clustering at the pool entrance. 
• All swimmers will be sent to Heritage Hall after they are done swimming to meet their parents. No parents will be allowed to wait for their swimmer on the main level.
• We will push the start of 10 Under warm up to 11:15 AM for Sunday to try to avoid some of the crossover traffic. 

Our 10 and under swimmers should be on deck at 11:15 this morning.  As of right now there haven't been any changes to the finals session.  If there are any I will send an email as soon as I know.
