Weekly Announcements for Week of 5/29-6/5

Dear SBSC families, CON BW3 Blazin Invite-Sunday Update Today's meet will follow the same format as yesterday. 13 and over warm-ups 2:00-3:00 -- our athletes should be on deck by 1:45 12 and under warm-ups 3:00-3:35 -- our athletes should be on deck by 2:45 Meet starts at 3:45 Projected finish 8:00 If you will not be attending, and have not done so already, please let me know as soon as you can. Concord is offering a separate session for the 400 free with warm-ups starting at noon. Our swimmers will not be competing in this session. Based on yesterday's finish time that would make an 8+ hour day at the pool for those swimmers. Once it has been determined what our entry fees are I will go back and credit those accounts of the athletes that were not able to swim. I will post our results and update the pertinent pages on our website early this week. Practice Schedule Here is the practice schedule for this week. Riley HS Group 1 Tuesday and Thursday 6:00-7:30 G1 Elite Friday 5:00-6:30 Group 2 Tuesday, Thursday 5:30-7:30 and Friday 5:00-6:30 Group 3 AM Tuesday 6:30-8:00, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 6:30-9:00 Group 3 PM Tuesday 4:15-6:30, Thursday, and Friday 5:00-6:30 New Prairie HS (only for NPUSC students) Group 1 Tuesday and Thursday 6:00-7:30 CST Group 2 Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 4:30-6:30 CST Group 3 Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 4:30-6:30 CST Practice Notes: No practice on Monday due to Memorial Day. Swimmers attending New Prairie practices will continue to enter the building through door N17. Everyone entering the building will be required to wear a mask. Parents will not be allowed on deck. Each athlete will need to fill out the attached form and hand deliver to the coach when entering the high school. All swimmers should come dressed ready to practice. There may be limited use of the locker rooms after practice. If you have any questions regarding procedures for NPHS practices please email Coach Ashley at awojtysiak@npusc.k12.in.us RHS Group 2 swimmers should come to practice in dry-land clothes over their suits. They should also be wearing quality workout shoes as well. Flip flops or Crocs are not acceptable options. Swimmers are encouraged to bring a yoga mat if they have one. Swimmers attending practices at Riley please continue to fill out the on-line daily screening before arriving to Riley. You can find that link by clicking here. Summer Practice Hours This week we will be beginning our summer practice schedule. NP will more or less remain the same. Group 1 will be extended until 7:30 and both Group 2 and Group 3 will have 2 hour long practices. Riley will also be starting summer hours beginning this week. Group 1 will be extended until 7:30. Group 2 and Group 3 will not have Wednesday evening practices. Group 3 will be switching to longer morning workouts beginning on Wednesday and shorter evening practices beginning on Thursday. We will also be allowing Group 2 swimmers to attend morning workouts. These workouts are to be in addition to the regularly scheduled Group 2 practice and not be used as a replacement. They will be allowed to attend the number of practices based on their age. If they are 11 they may attend 1, 12-2, 13-3 and 14-4. Families will be charged an additional $15 each month. Swimmers who do not currently have Divisional cuts will need my permission before attending these practices. Miscellaneous We are still having multiple swimmers each night enter the building without a mask. Until the school administration says otherwise it is still a requirement for our athletes. Since I never felt right about suggesting we wouldn't allow swimmers to enter the building we will continue to provide masks for your swimmers. I also do not believe this is cost that should be absorbed by the club. Moving forward, if a swimmer needs a mask there will be a $1 charge placed on the family account. All swimmers are to be picked up no later then 15 minutes after practice ends. We will never hold your swimmer longer then the posted practice time so please show our coaches the same courtesy and pick your children up on time. At the time of registration a document titled "Terms and Conditions" required a digital signature. As a reminder this is the section of the document that pertains to this issue. If swimmers are not picked up within 15 minutes of the scheduled ending time of practice families are subject to fines of $5, $15, and $25. Fines will be based on, but not limited to, the length of time a coaching member must wait, number of occurrences, and or the lack of a courtesy message beforehand by the parents. After the third offense swimmers may be barred from participation unless or another responsible party stays for the entire practice. Open Water State I apologize about the email you received this morning about this meet. SBSC will no longer be attending the Open Water State meet. We received information regarding this meet last week. After confirming the site I came to the decision not to attend. The meet is being held in West Chester Ohio, just north of Cincinnati. With only 3 swimmers currently committed to the meet and the length of travel for a one day middle of the week meet I feel it is our best option to not attend. Extended Meet Deadlines Munster Summer Splash (6/25-27): They are limiting the teams in this meet and we have been one of the teams accepted. Because of this they are allowing teams to submit entries much later then normal. If you would like your swimmer to attend this meet please commit them by Sunday June 13. IA Summer Spectacular (7/9-11): The meet information was sent out on Tuesday of last week. Our new deadline for this meet is this Saturday June 5. Spring and Summer Meet Schedule/Dates of Meet/Location/Deadline to commit Below is our spring/summer meet schedule. The first date listed is the day(s) of the meet and second date is the deadline to commit. Swimmers wanting to compete will need to commit to those meets. The deadlines are based on deadlines that were set in previous years. They may change once the meet hosts posts the meet information. When committing to multiple day meets if the option to select the days you want is not available, leave a message in the available notes section of the specific days you would like to attend. Moving forward, swimmers will be instructed to include a parent on all communication with me.
