Here again is some information I was sent about the upcoming meet from the IA staff:

·       In our efforts to provide opportunities for swimmers to compete, we were forced to make some changes to the format. The Friday AM and PM sessions, as well as the Saturday AM session will be run in all 8 lanes. We will take a 5 minute break at the conclusion of each distance and stroke (4 events in the morning and 2 events in the afternoon) where the pool will be open for swimmers to get in. The distance sessions, Saturday PM and Sunday AM will all be run in 7 lanes with the 8thopen for continuous warm up/down.

·       We will need to limit the number of heats in the 10 & Under and 11-12 200Freestyle on Friday and the 10 & Under and 11-12 200 IM on Sunday. Once time updates are in, I will send out information about the limits. We want to get as many swims in as possible, so please send time updates!

·       The update deadline is Tuesday, June 28 at midnight. All NT entries must be updated by that point a well.

·       Swimmers in the 400 Free and 400 IM will need to provide at least 1 timer for their race. We are planning on having 1 timer per lane, but the swimmer is responsible for providing one of their own as well.

·       The 400 Free session on Friday is scheduled to start around 6:00 PM and end around 8:40. The 400 IM session is scheduled to start around 5:50 PM and end around 7:00. Practice Cancelled 6-21 PM

Power is still out at Riley High School so we will have to cancel practice for this evening (Tuesday 6-21).  We have been trying to arrange pool time at other locations for tomorrow and we are just waiting to hear back.  I have been told from multiple sources RHS may not be restored until tomorrow evening.  But we can always hold out hope it will be fixed sooner.  I plan to be at RHS early tomorrow morning to check to see if by some miracle the power is back on.  I will send an email out by 5:30 and update our social sites to let everyone know the status of practice.  If I hear back that we have found some other pool time I will send another email out this evening with details.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

AM Practice Cancelled 6-21

Practice for Tuesday morning, June 21st, is cancelled.  Riley High School is still with out power.  The building is currently running on the back-up generators and only essential electrical functions are operating.  I spoke with the building engineer this morning and he has not been given any specific times to when we can expect power to restored.  My hope is we will back in the water this afternoon.  I will update everyone as soon as I know more.

Practice Cancelled 6-20-16

This meet was put on our schedule for all of our 10 and under swimmers and our 11 and over swimmers without a Divisional time standard.  If your swimmer falls into this category they will be automatically entered in the meet unless you choose to decline attendance.  If you know you want your swimmer to attend please commit them for the meet.  It makes it easier when doing entries if I know an athlete will be attending the meet especially when considering relays.  While this meet was added for the swimmers mentioned above it is short course meet an excellent opportunity for our Group 3 swimmers to achieve some new best times in yards.  The deadline for this meet is tonight Sunday June 5th at 6:00 PM.
