Practice Notes:
Swimmers attending New Prairie practices will continue to enter the building through door N17. Everyone entering the building will be required to wear a mask. Parents will not be allowed on deck. Athletes are no longer required to fill out a waiver when attending NP practices. All swimmers should come dressed ready to practice. There may be limited use of the locker rooms after practice. If you have any questions regarding procedures for NPHS practices please email Coach Ashley at awojtysiak@npusc.k12.in.us
RHS Group 2 swimmers should come to practice in dry-land clothes over their suits. They should also be wearing quality workout shoes as well. Flip flops or Crocs are not acceptable options. Swimmers are encouraged to bring a yoga mat if they have one.
Swimmers attending practices at Riley please continue to fill out the on-line daily screening before arriving to Riley. You can find that link by clicking here.
Elkhart Invite
I will update all the pertinent pages to our website when the results file is sent out.
Team Bags
The Riley girls team purchased new team backpacks for their program. Coach Amy Thibault has graciously offered their older, gently used backpacks to our club swimmers. If your swimmer would like a backpack send me an email and after an upcoming practice we will allow them to pick one out.
Miscellaneous
We are still having multiple swimmers each night enter the building without a mask. Until the school administration says otherwise it is still a requirement for our athletes. Since I never felt right about suggesting we wouldn't allow swimmers to enter the building we will continue to provide masks for your swimmers. I also do not believe this is cost that should be absorbed by the club. Moving forward, if a swimmer needs a mask there will be a $1 charge placed on the family account.
All swimmers are to be picked up no later then 15 minutes after practice ends. We will never hold your swimmer longer then the posted practice time so please show our coaches the same courtesy and pick your children up on time. At the time of registration a document titled "Terms and Conditions" required a digital signature. As a reminder this is the section of the document that pertains to this issue.
If swimmers are not picked up within 15 minutes of the scheduled ending time of practice families are subject to fines of $5, $15, and $25. Fines will be based on, but not limited to, the length of time a coaching member must wait, number of occurrences, and or the lack of a courtesy message beforehand by the parents. After the third offense swimmers may be barred from participation unless or another responsible party stays for the entire practice.
Spring and Summer Meet Schedule/Dates of Meet/Location/Deadline to commit
Below is our spring/summer meet schedule. The first date listed is the day(s) of the meet and second date is the deadline to commit. Swimmers wanting to compete will need to commit to those meets. The deadlines are based on deadlines that were set in previous years. They may change once the meet hosts posts the meet information. When committing to multiple day meets if the option to select the days you want is not available, leave a message in the available notes section of the specific days you would like to attend. Meets marked with an * are meets that require swimmers to meet certain time standards. All pool locations can be found on our website under the "Pools" tab.

USA Swimming Guidelines-MAAPPUSA
USA Swimming issued a directive with regards to electronic communication and social media contact between coaches and athletes. Most of what is being implemented is common sense and falls in line with our club's policies. One new requirement we will need to adhere to is how your minor child communicates with me. For several years I have asked swimmers in Group 2 and Group 3 to text/email me if they would be missing practice. Moving forward, swimmers will be instructed to include a parent on all communication with me.
If you are the parent of a Group 2 or Group 3 swimmer, and have never sent me a text before, please text me so I have your contact info in my phone. This way if I need to contact your swimmer about missing practice I can be sure to include you. My cell phone number is 574-276-6057.
I encourage all parents and swimmers to read the full policy. We are required to keep this policy on our website, here is the link.
As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
