Triathalon at Potato Creek State Park-Saturday July 14th

I was contacted by the meet director for this event looking for lifeguards.  The guards would be needed from 8-10 AM.  He is willing to pay in cash and cover the gate entry fee expense.  His contact information is Brian18@DINOseries.com and 317-336-7553.

Email Change

Starting this fall the weekly emails will be sent through the administrative dashboard. Please make sure your email address is up to date on your swim club account page.

Summer Entrance Into The Building

For building security purposes we are asking all swimmers and parents to enter and exit the building through door #22.  This door is on the northwest corner of the building and faces Fellows Street.  There is a stairwell at this entrance that leads directly to our seating area.  That door will be the one we open for parents who choose to stay and watch practice. Please do not use, or prop open, the double blue doors at the east end of the seating gallery. Swimmers will be directed to leave the building through door #22, parents please plan to pick up you swimmers at that end of the building

New Prairie Pool Updates

Coach Ashley was informed they will be starting work on the pool deck on July 23rd so our last practice at NP will be Thursday July 19th. NP swimmers always have the option of attending practices at RHS.

Group 3 Friday August 3rd--We may offer shorter AM practices for this group the week of 8/5-8/11.  I will keep everyone posted.

NP Groups: July 19th-NP swimmers should attend practices at RHS until the end of the season.

No one will be charged any training fees for the month of August.

Our first practice in the fall will be the Tuesday after Labor Day, September 4th.  All swimmers wanting to be part of our program this fall will need to register through our on-line platform.  I plan to have that up and running no later then August 6th.

Advertising Credit 

A Group 2 or Group 3 annual membership plus all the other associated fees with our membership -- spirit wear, meet surcharges, technology fees, concession stand/hospitality fees, USA Swimming-- is just under $550 for an entire year. (A Group 1 annual membership is about $100 less.)  If you were able to sell two of the the Premiere+ adds it could easily pay for a whole year of swimming including meet entry fees!

Selling a one year ad to one company could earn you anywhere from $50 to almost $500. Here is the link for more information. 

Another easy way to earn credit for your swim club account is to hang our recruiting posters out in the public. For every poster you hang you will receive a $5 credit up to $25. Once you hang the poster post a pic of it on your Facebook page (or other social site) and tag the club.

Practice Notes: We will have practice on Wednesday AM July 4th, like always no PM practice on Wednesday.  No practice for any groups on Friday due to the IA meet A small number of Group 2 swimmers will be resting  this week for the IA meet.  Those swimmers will end practice by 7:00.  As always, NP swimmers are allowed to attend any of their group's corresponding practice at Riley.

IHSAA Moratorium Week

Each summer the IHSAA mandates the week that contains July 4th there is to be no contact between high school coaches and their athletes.  I will be at practice but I will not be on deck. I will be sequestered in my office and available to meet with any non-high school swimmer or any parent.  All high school swimmers (or soon to be high school swimmers) are not to be in the office for any reason. 

Swimmers are not to arrive to practice prior to 6:20 AM or 4:50 PM.  No swimmer will be let into the building until another coach arrives.

IA Summer Spectacular July 6th-8th Rolfs Aquatic Center, Notre Dame

Here are the pertinent times for this weekend's meet.

Friday and Saturday AM Sessions-all 12 and under swimmers

Doors open 6:30

Warm-ups 7:00-7:45-our swimmers need to be on deck by 6:45

Meet Starts 8:00

Friday and Saturday PM Sessions-all 13 and over swimmers

Warm-ups 12:00-12:45-our swimmers need to be on deck by 11:45

Meet Starts 1:00

Friday and Saturday Distance Sessions-400 IM/400 Free

There will be a 20 minute warm-up immediately following the last event of the PM session.

Sunday AM-events #41-#48

Doors open 6:30

Warm-ups 13 & over 6:45-7:25-our swimmers need to be on deck no later then 6:35

Warm-ups 12 & under 7:25-7:50-our swimmers need to be on deck by 7:00

Here are some other items from the IA meet director

• We will be running flyovers for all sessions, but will be more aggressive in the 13 & Over sessions as there are a lot of heats to get through. Please be sure that your swimmers are prepared for this ahead of time.
• If your swimmer misses a swim (and it is not our fault), we will not be creating new opportunities for them to make up that swim. 
• I am going to be working with the warm up situation in the next day or two. We may need to split the warm up into 2 sessions to make sure there is enough room. There are roughly 350 swimmers in each session so I will work to get swimmers the most space to warm up as possible.
• All sessions will be swum in 8 lanes. The 13 & Over sessions will have short 5 minute warm up/ cool down breaks at the end of each boys event. There will not be warm up breaks in the 12 & Under session.
• The distance sessions will be run fastest to slowest, alternating 1 heat of girls with 1 heat of boys. There will be a separate sign in for these sessions available at the timing table during the morning session.

• The psych sheet and meet information has been posted to Meet Mobile. I will update those with any time udates that may come in.

Group 2 swimmers are allowed to attend AM workouts based on their age.  11 year olds once a week, 12 year olds twice, 13-3 times, and 14-4 times per week.  Group 2 swimmers will need to be above 75% attendance of their practices to attend AM workouts and have at least one Divisional cut in their age group.  If a swimmer does not meet those requirements they may still be granted permission to attend.  AM practices begin with 30-40 minutes in the weight room.  Our philosophy is this type of training is not appropriate for younger swimmers.  Swimmers 11-13 year attending morning practice should be on the pool deck at 7:00 and begin their dynamic stretching routine.  Group swimmers 2 attending AM workouts will also be charged an additional $15 each month they attend workouts.

For building security purposes we are asking all swimmers and parents to enter and exit the building through door #22.  This door is on the northwest corner of the building and faces Fellows Street.  There is a stairwell at this entrance that leads directly to our seating area.  That door will be the one we open for parents who choose to stay and watch practice. Please do not use, or prop open, the double blue doors at the east end of the seating gallery. Swimmers will be directed to leave the building through door #22, parents please plan to pick up you swimmers at that end of the building

New Prairie Pool Updates

NPHS will have building shutdowns this summer due to  electrical (intermittent power) and plumbing work.  The building will be closed this week and we are planning on being back up and running practice the following week (7/7-7/13). Coach Ashley was informed they will be starting work on the pool deck on July 23rd so our last practice at NP will be Thursday July 19th. NP swimmers always have the option of attending practices at RHS.

Last Thursday I sent an email out to all active accounts on our club regarding this weekend's meets.  I sent the email directly from the administrative dashboard of our website.  Starting this fall the weekly emails will be sent the same way.  If you did not receive the email please check your spam (or any of your other folders that receive mail.)  If you still did not receive the email please respond to this email with the account you believe is associated with your swim club account.

New Prairie Pool Updates

NPHS will have building shutdowns this summer due to  electrical (intermittent power) and plumbing work.  The building will be closed the week of June 25-29th and July 2nd-6th. NP swimmers always have the option of attending practices at RHS.  Starting this week of NP practices will return to the earlier practice times we used last summer (see above schedule).

NASA Summer Invite, Northridge High School, SATURDAY June 23rd

Advertising Credit 

A Group 2 or Group 3 annual membership plus all the other associated fees with our membership -- spirit wear, meet surcharges, technology fees, concession stand/hospitality fees, USA Swimming-- is just under $550 for an entire year. (A Group 1 annual membership is about $100 less.)  If you were able to sell two of the the Premiere+ adds it could easily pay for a whole year of swimming including meet entry fees!

Selling a one year ad to one company could earn you anywhere from $50 to almost $500. Here is the link for more information. 

Another easy way to earn credit for your swim club account is to hang our recruiting posters out in the public. For every poster you hang you will receive a $5 credit up to $25. Once you hang the poster post a pic of it on your Facebook page (or other social site) and tag the club.

Below is our spring/summer meet schedule.  Swimmers wanting to compete will need to commit to those meets. If you are only given the option of "yes" or "no" when committing please leave a message in the available notes section of what days you would like to attend.
