All Time Top 10, Current Qualifiers for Divisionals/State, and our results. Divisonals Crown Point High School March 5th-7th This meet is open for all swimmers who have qualified. (Click on the link above to see if your swimmer has qualified). I will be sending our preliminary entry sometime later today. I have until Thursday to make any changes. So, if there are event changes, time updates, no longer want to swim, etc. please let me know. Also, we received notification from the meet host there may be changes to the format of the meet. The POTENTIAL format changes will be that the 14 & Under/Open session be split by gender creating an additional session. The 14 & U/Open Women will swim first followed by the 14 & U/Open Men. This additional session of the 14 & U/Open Men will result in the 10 & Under and 11-12 sessions being moved to later times in the day. Final sessions times will be communicated as soon as possible. These changes will only be implemented if the entry numbers of the 14 & U/Open sessions exceed the facility capacity restrictions. Practice Reminders Parents please make sure your athletes are arriving to practice in their practice gear (suits and/or dryland clothes). We want to limit the activity in the locker room. The locker rooms should just be for restroom breaks and changing after practice if necessary. When dropping your swimmer off for practice please make sure they leave your vehicle wearing a mask. We have a very limited supply of disposable masks and we hope to use those when the one's they have break or are no longer viable. Finally make sure to fill out our daily screening every time they attend practice. Here is that link. Lifeguarding The best time to lifeguard is now! We need your help!! PEASE sign-up in any available spot. USA Swimming Guidelines-MAAPPUSA USA Swimming issued a directive with regards to electronic communication and social media contact between coaches and athletes. Most of what is being implemented is common sense and falls in line with our club's policies. One new requirement we will need to adhere to is how your minor child communicates with me. For several years I have asked swimmers in Group 2 and Group 3 to text/email me if they would be missing practice. Moving forward, swimmers will be instructed to include a parent on all communication with me.
If you are the parent of a Group 2 or Group 3 swimmer, and have never sent me a text before, please text me so I have your contact info in my phone. This way if I need to contact your swimmer about missing practice I can be sure to include you. My cell phone number is 574-276-6057.
I encourage all parents and swimmers to read the full policy. We are required to keep this policy on our website, here is the link. As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. -- John VanDriessche Head Coach South Bend Swim Club South Bend Riley High School (574)276-6057 www.southbendswimclub.com #SBSCForLife
