Weekly Announcements for Week of 10/25-10/31

Dear SBSC families,

3rd Annual Swim-A-Thon

A huge THANK YOU to everyone that participated yesterday.  I could not be more proud of the way all of our swimmers and families responded to the challenge of meeting our fund-raising goal.  In the last 7 days we have raised almost $5000!!  We went from 35 swimmers contributing to 77!!  While it is still not 100% participation it certainly is a big improvement over where we were 1 week ago.  It also is big jump from the 53 swimmers who collected donations last year and beat our previous best of 69 swimmers from 2 years ago.  If your swimmer was collecting donations based on the number of lengths they swam they have until Friday to turn in the money.  On-line donations will also still be available through Friday.

A special thank you to Dr. Kyle Hoskins ofInVision Eyecare Center who graciously provided the coffee and donuts for our lap counters.

This has been a very active month for our club 3 with consecutive Saturday meets then yesterday's Swim-A-Thon.  I know I probably do not say it enough to our members, but thank you.  Thank you for being part of our SBSC swimming family, thank you for supporting us, and thank you for trusting us to be part of your children's lives.   Even after writing it four times I realize the words thank you do not fully express my appreciation and gratitude I have for all of you and your contributions you have made to our club.  It doesn't seem possible SBSC will be 10 years old in the spring and we would have never made it to this point without the dedication from our swimmers and their families!

Practice notes:
I will be attending NP on Tuesday this week. There is a previously scheduled event for the NPHS pool on Thursday and we will not be able to hold practice.  NP Group 1's second practice of the week will be on Wednesday.  If swimmers are unable to make Wednesday they are welcome to attend practice on Thursday at Riley.  All NP Group 2 and Group 3 swimmers are welcome to attend practice at Riley on Thursday and Friday this week as well

Group 2 swimmers need to bring dry-land clothes (running shoes, shorts, T-shirt) to practice on Friday.

Team Shirts
If your swimmer was able to stay until the end of the Swim-A-Thon they received their team shirt yesterday.  We were also able to hand out the parent shirts for those parents that were in attendance.  The rest of the shirts will be available for pick-up at practice this week

Tentative Practice Schedule For November-March
I hope to have the remainder of our practice calendars updated by the end of the week.  With high school meets starting in a couple of weeks our schedule will not be as consistent as it has been the last two months.  Whenever possible Group 1 will remain on Tuesday and Thursday but there will be weeks when  practices will have to be moved to Monday and/or Wednesday.  Some Group 2 practices start time may be moved to 5:00 and if we have to we will add a Saturday morning practice

Club Advertising for Account Credit
Our website allows for local merchants to advertise and offer coupons/specials directly on our  site.  Here is a link to the information page. We will credit your account 50% of any money the club receives from companies that you have sold advertising space to on our website.

Thank you to those families who have been able to find places to hang our team recruiting posters.  I have credited the accounts of those who have sent me photos.  If you have placed a poster in the community and have not received credit on your account please let me know and I will take care of that immediately.

Every poster displayed in a business, school, or church will earn a $5 credit for your club account.  You could earn up to $50 of credit this way.  For every poster displayed over 10, families will have their name entered for a $50 Visa gift card drawing.  We will hold that drawing on December 1st

As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me
