SWAC Pre-lim/Final Invite November 17th-19th HPB Natatorium Ft. Wayne
The deadline for committing to the meet is tonight, Sunday October 22nd.  The format for this meet is the same as our championships meets at the end of the season.  This could be a great learning experience for all of our athletes. If there are high school girls that are interested in attending they will need to contact their school's athletic director to obtain a waiver.

Swim-A-Thon
I can not express my gratitude enough for the last week we have had.  In the time between the weekly emails we have raised over $8400!! An unbelievable week.  We had 47 swimmers donate at least $100.  We also had 7 swimmers that were able to collect $500 or more.  A total of 73 of our swimmers contributed to this year's Swim-A-Thon. Thank you to all the families and swimmers who helped us achieve our goal.  Thanks again to all the parents who came down and deck and helped count our swimmer's laps.
 

Golden Goggles
The Golden Goggles is USA Swimming's annual awards ceremony for their athletes and coaches.  It also serves as their fundraiser for the USA Swimming  Foundation.  Each year they recognize several outstanding performances.  This year one of our very own has been nominated for an award.  Bethany Galat, a senior at Texas A&M and former SBSC member, has been nominated for the "Breakout Performer of the Year".  You can click here to read Bethany's short bio and to cast your vote for her.

Team T-shirts

Team shirts were handed out to all the swimmers (and parents if they ordered) that were in attendance at the Swim-A-Thon.  We will hand out shirts to the other swimmers this week at practice.  Parents if you ordered shirts please wait until practice has ended before coming into the office to pick up yours.  We do have team suits that were ordered from Just Add H20 and will be handing those out as well.  The shirts for the NP swimmers and families will be delivered to NP one day this week

NP Swimmers are always welcome to attend any of their corresponding group practices at RHS.  Group 2 practices will now begin at 5:00.  A reminder to swimmers attending Friday's practice to please bring dry-and clothes including running shoes.

Dune Rumble In The Region, Chesterton High School, Saturday December 16th
I have attached the meet letter and our entry for this Saturday's meet.  Coach Lydia (574-335-9547) and Coach Brett (574-250-6358) will be the coaches on deck at this meet.  If you are unable to make it or you will be running late please contact either one.  I have attached a link of a Google map above.  Click on Chesterton High School to view.

Here are the pertinent times:
Saturday AM-all 10 and under swimmers
Warm-ups 8:15-9:15 CST (our swimmers need to be on deck by 8:00 CST)
Meet starts 9:30

Saturday PM-all 11 and over swimmers
Warm-ups 1:00-2:00 CST (our swimmers need to be on deck 12:45 CST)
Meet starts at 2:15

Both warm-ups will be divided into two different 30 minute sessions.  At this time we have not been assigned to a specific warm-up slot.

A Group 2 or Group 3 annual membership plus all the other associated fees with our membership -- spirit wear, meet surcharges, technology fees, concession stand/hospitality fees, USA Swimming-- is just under $550 for an entire year. (A Group 1 annual membership is about $100 less.)  If you were able to sell two of the the Premiere+ adds it could easily pay for a whole year of swimming including meet entry fees!

Team Christmas PartyOn Thursday December 21st we will be having our annual Christmas pool party.  Siblings and parents are invited to come swim with the team.  We will do $5 gift exchange for the swimmers and any other children in attendance.  If you bring a gift you will receive a gift.  Group 2 will have practice from 5:00-6:00.  The party will be from 6:00-7:30

The afternoon start times are earlier then posted in the meet letter and were changed due to the projected short time line of the morning sessions

SWAC Invite
Great performances from our kids the entire weekend.  We had 21 swimmers competing (only a few swam all 3 days) and we had 58 new best times!  Here is a link to our new all time top ten, the updated qualifiers page, and our improvement report.  I have also attached a report of our swimmers event placings.

NASA Sprint MeetCongratulations to the entire team! We had 191 new best times!!!  Willa Krichef set a new team record in the 9-10 girls 25 Fly (16.22).  Joe Radde set new team records in the 13-14 boys 100 Free (51.47), 200 Back (2:08.90), 100 Fly (56.07), 100 Back (58.75), and 100 IM (58.20). 2nd T-shirt order
We will be placing a second T-shirt order. If you would like to order one please send me an email with T-shirt in the subject box.  I will place the charge on your swim club account.  The printing company is not able get us on their schedule until next week.   The deadline for ordering a shirt will be this Saturday November 11th.
