Practice notes: Due to the RHS parent meeting on Tuesday, I will be at NPHS on Thursday this week. Group 2 swimmers need to bring dry-land clothes (running shoes, shorts, T-shirt) to practice on Friday.  All NP Group 2 and Group 3 swimmers may attend Friday practices at Riley High School.  NP Group 3 swimmers are allowed to attend either the scheduled Group 2 or Group 3 Friday practice.

The "Edit Commitment" Button
Next week we will have two meet deadlines.  Please remember this season swimmers will be assumed to be competing in all meets unless parents opt out of the meet.  For our new families if you have not set-up a form of automatic payment (credit card or checking account) your swimmer will notbe entered in meets after the intra-sqaud.  If you have not set-up your account with auto pay you should have a received a system generated email with directions on how to do so on Monday.  Another one will follow today.

To opt out of a meet click on the the meets tab near the top of our website.  Scroll down to find the specific meet you are choosing to not attend.  Click on the Edit Commitment button and select "No, thanks, [swimmer's name] will not attend this event."

I also want to say thank you to the families who left a note as to why their swimmer will not be participating.  It isn't a requirement, but it is certainly appreciated.

When our Group 3 swimmer's leave for their high school teams later this fall we will be amending our meet commitment policy for those athletes. High school swimmers will not be automatically entered in meets following the NASA meet in November.  This will continue through the end of the high school season.  If a high school swimmer wants to compete in a club meet they will need to commit to attend.  Starting November 9th for girls and November 23rd for boys, high school swimmers will also need a waiver to compete in club meets.  This is done on-line by their school athletic director and is necessary for athletes to retain their IHSAA eligibility.  Indiana high school athletes are allowed to compete in two non high school events during the high school competition season.  A waiver is not need for the NASA meet for the boys or girls.  The boys will not need one for the SWAC meet.

Birth Certificate/USA Swimming Membership Form/Outreach Swimmers/Transfer Athletes
Thank you to those families who turned in paperwork this week.  We still are in need of these completed forms from several others.

I have attached a blank copy of USA Swimming membership application.  Indiana Swimming requires us to have a hard copy of this form on file for every swimmer every year. Even if you have been with the club for years I will need you to fill out this form and return it to your swimmer's first practice this week

All athletes need to have a copy of their birth certificate on file with Indiana Swimming.  If an athlete competes without proof of birth the club and athlete face some substantial fines.  The best way to insure your swimmer is covered is to scan a copy of their birth certificate then email it to me.

If during registration you answered yes to the question about financial assistance for your swimmer you received a credit for the USA Swimming membership.  To be able to receive that credit I will need a letter from your children's school stating their eligibility for assistance.  I will be sending all of our memberships to Indiana Swimming at the end of the month so please turn those forms into to me sometime before then.

During registration some of our new families indicated their swimmers had previously belonged to another USA Swimming club.  If your swimmer was registered with another club you will need to fill out the attached USA Swimming transfer form and return to me.

Club Advertising for Account Credit
Our website allows for local merchants to advertise and offer coupons/specials directly on our  site.  Here is a link to the information page. We will credit your account 50% of any money the club receives from companies that you have sold advertising space to on our website.

Thank you to those families who have been able to find places to hang our team recruiting posters.  I have credited the accounts of those who have sent me a photos.  If you have placed a poster in the community and have not received credit on your account please let me know and I will take care of that immediately.

Every poster displayed in a business, school, or church will earn a $5 credit for your club account.  You could earn up to $50 of credit this way.  For every poster displayed over 10, families will have their name entered for a $50 Visa gift card drawing.  We will hold that drawing on December 1st

RHS Parent Meeting-This Tuesday 9-22
Our fall parent meeting for the RHS training groups is schedule for this Tuesday September 22nd at 6:00 PM in the RHS Cafeteria.  At least one adult from each family should be in attendance.  The meeting is scheduled for 60 minutes but I will stay and answer question as long as needed.  I will be covering several topics including all of the proposed changes and the philosophical reasons behind them.

3rd Annual Swim-A-Thon Saturday Oct 24th

The Swim-A-Thon fundraiser has been turned on and you should see the banner at the top of our homepage.  If not you can click here to get there.  Hopefully everyone received the introductory email earlier this week and the instructional video this morning.

The money we raise this season is going to invested in the club a little differently.  Our fist SAT we purchased underwater cameras and recording devices.  Last year we purchased a ton of dry-land and other training equipment.  This year about 1/3 of the money raised will go to some new training equipment.   Our primary purchase of this portion of money will be tempo trainers.  Around 15% will go to operational costs, including the 5% we are required to send to the USA Swimming Foundation.  I am hoping to spend 50% of the money raised on marketing and advertising for our club.  I have some ideas for this but if you have any you would like to share please let me know.

We now have three swimmers with donations.  Charlie Tamashasky, Jake Toppen and Isaiah Bennion. Keep up the good work

NASA Sprint Meet, Northridge High School, November 7th & 8th

7. Financial assistance through advertising.
Our website allows for local merchants to advertise and offer coupons/specials directly on our  site.  Here is a link to the information page. We will credit your account 50% of any money the club receives from companies that you have sold advertising space to on our website.  (1st announced 8/16).

For those of you that follow us on Facebook or any of the other social sites, last month I posted a pic of our new recruiting posters.  We are asking families to help promote the club and in return will receive credit on their club account.  For every business, school, or church you are able to get a poster displayed you will receive a $5 credit on your account up to $50.  For every poster displayed over 10, families will have their name entered for a $50 Visa gift card.  We will hold that drawing on December 1st

As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me
